Letter from the Director

Since 1991, Habitat for Humanity of Utah County has been providing simple, decent housing to local families in need. Through the support of local businesses, churches, builders and individuals, who donate both time and resources, we are able to continue our work of helping families realize the dream of safe and affordable homeownership.

In realizing this dream, the families we serve not only gain a home, but a lifetime of security as well. For many, it becomes the step that puts them on the path out of the cycle of generational poverty—an effect that is felt for generations to come. However, in recognizing the life-changing nature of our program, we cannot overstate the importance of those who help make such a program possible.

Our volunteers are one of our most valuable assets. From serving on our board of directors or one of our various committees, to helping out in our ReStore or on the construction site, our volunteers are very much at the heart of what we do. However, they are only one half of the equation—the other half comes in the form of our generous donors. Our existence as an organization depends almost entirely on community donations for support. It is only through the generosity of our donors and the enthusiasm of our volunteers that we are able to continue building safe and affordable homes for families in need.

You can make a significant impact on the life of a local family by donating or volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Utah County. I encourage you to explore our site to learn more about what we do—and how you can help.

Sincerely,

Kena Mathews
Executive Director
