We build at locations throughout Utah County. Currently we have one home under construction, located in our TyRay subdivision at 1104 N 950 West in Provo.
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County uses volunteer construction crews on Thursdays (one shift) and Saturdays (2 shifts) year-round. Volunteers are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, with no more than 20 volunteers accepted for each shift.
We accept any volunteer with a willing heart and working hands. Construction experience is helpful, but not necessary. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to build, and 18 years of age to use power tools. You will be notified of the site location via e-mail one week prior to the project.
Please see the Youth page for opportunities for volunteers under 16 years of age or for youth groups.
When you arrive at the build site, you will be expected to wear pants or long shorts, sturdy closed-toed shoes, and to follow all safety guidelines. Except for work gloves, you do not need to bring any extra supplies or tools. You will be required to fill out a waiver prior to working on the build site. Because we are a Christian organization, we will begin our build day with a prayer and an inspirational thought. Following, you will receive safety guidelines and instructions for the day’s work. Habitat for Humanity will provide drinking water and a small snack for all build day volunteers. If you would like, please feel free to bring lunch.
If you are interested in participating in a build project, please contact Jayne Anderton. Once you know when you would like to build, please take the short Habitat for Humanity online introduction and fill out the requested information. Every person attending the construction project must complete the introduction and information sheet.
We are looking especially for Crew Leaders and Site Safety volunteers. Crew Leaders lead a small group of volunteers on a particular project. Our Site Safety coordinators educate the volunteers on safety precautions and monitor the site for hazards. Please let us know if you'd like to fill these roles, perhaps committing to helping us one shift per month.
If you would like to sign up a group for a particular build day, you may use your group name to reserve as many spots as you like for a build day, for up to two weeks. Please instruct each person planning to attend the project to take the short Habitat for Humanity online introduction, and fill out the requested information within two weeks of the group sign-up date. Every person attending the construction project must complete the introduction and information sheet.
Think ahead to next Spring! For groups, we are booked through March 2009.
