Volunteer Overview

join us

Volunteers play an essential role in our mission, whether it’s on a construction site, at the Habitat ReStore, in our office, serving on a committee, or at one of our events. We welcome volunteers of all skill levels who are interested in contributing their time and talents toward making a difference in the lives of families in need!

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County provides opportunities for individuals and organizations to take action in the fight against substandard housing. Working together to help people become successful homeowners creates stability in the community.

Ways to Volunteer

General Construction

majority of a Habitat home. At the build site, you might be framing, roofing, siding, hanging drywall, doing finish work, or landscaping. Volunteers must be 16+ years to work on an “active” build site and 18+ years to use power tools. Neighborhood, school and church groups of up to 12 volunteers are also welcome. No construction experience necessary! Register first and then sign up for a shift here.

ReStore

Spend some time helping at one of our Habitat ReStores. At our ReStores, we accept and sell to the public new and used building materials, tools, appliances, and home improvement supplies.
Funds raised benefit Habitat’s mission of eliminating substandard housing. Groups of up to 15 are welcome! Volunteer shifts are available Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Corporate or Team Build

We offer team build opportunities when your company or business joins our Home Building Partners. When you build with us, you also build strength, stability, and self-reliance through
shelter. Click here for more info and hyperlink to the sponsorship opportunities page.

Become A Regular

Volunteer as a member of our Site Host or Crew Leader team. Trainings held monthly. Site Hosts greet, check-in, organize and set up water and snacks for the volunteers. Crew Leaders should have some construction experience, especially with power tools, and be able to lead small groups of 3 – 5 volunteers on their project during the shift. Volunteers with weekday availability are especially needed!

We are also looking for committed community members to serve on committees, such as our Fundraising, ReStore or Building Committees. Photographers are needed to document our groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and build days. Graphic designers are always sought after to help with flyers and marketing materials.

Court Ordered Community Service

Need hours for the court? We’ll put you to work! If you are over 18+ years and are not serving hours for theft or a sexual offense, you may work at either our Orem or Spanish Fork ReStore.
Assist in unloading and receiving donations, as well as cleaning, straightening, and organizing the stores. Some work may be outside doing landscaping and general maintenance. Hours are available Tuesday-Saturday from 10-6. Are you a contractor, tradesperson, or subcontractor? We might be able to use your skills at one of our build sites, depending on current projects.
